Dear Valley Indian Parents/ Families,
With the rising number of COVID cases throughout our community and within the school district we are planning to begin Remote learning beginning December 14, 2020 for a period of three instructional weeks. It is our hope that this change of our schedule can help minimize the spread among our students and families that the holiday break may bring upon us. The following timeline outlines the expectations for your child:
Valley Local School District will operate on a remote learning schedule beginning the week of December 14 through January 15, 2021. This includes all grade levels PS-12. If conditions allow, On-site classes will resume Tuesday, January 19, 2021 after Martin Luther King day.
The ESC classrooms, CTC and CAPE will operate on a regular schedule and report to the respective buildings.
There will be no school for students or staff during our scheduled Christmas break from December 19 through January 3.
During Remote learning, students will be expected to log on daily to follow their regular school day schedule. They will need to follow google classroom lessons, activities and complete assignments. Live google meets may be scheduled for the students to join and participate.
At this time, the weeks of December 14 through January 15 will be Remote learning for students.
Students are encouraged to contact their teachers via email for further information and/or clarification. We very much look forward to continuing the education of your child during these remote learning times.
Meals during this time will be available to pick up at the building your child attends. Pick up days and times will be Monday and Thursday at 10:00 am. Please notify your child’s school if you plan to pick up meals for your child.
Valley staff members will report to their respective buildings December 14-18 and January 4-15 to deliver their lessons during the Remote Learning time.
It is important for the district to continue to track the number of COVID cases, positives and close contacts, we ask that you notify the district to report either a positive or close contact that requires isolation or quarantine. Please call 740-259-6601 and leave a message. Please leave name, grade level and date of positive test or date of exposure as a contact.
We understand this decision will create a burden on some families during the 3 week Remote Learning time, but we feel this is the safest way to move forward.
